Pelican Season!

It's that time of year again. Migrating baby pelicans find themselves exhausted and hungry when they reach Belize. Once they stop to draw breath, the parasites run riot in their system, making the birds too weak to fish. That's where Mr Bill Wasserman found himself when he came to volunteer at BBR this year. That bird nearly bit off more than he could chew! Great job keeping your fingers there Bill :-) As a matter of interest, all of our banded babies have come from North Carolina.
