Volunteer Position Overview

​

Belize Bird Rescue (NGO) is an all-species avian rehabilitation and rescue centre. It is currently funded by income generated by Rock Farm Guest House and by donations from the general public.

 

The successful applicant will be required to provide full administrative assistance for the NGO and the Guest House, working closely with the BBR Managing Director, Nikki Buxton.

This is a live-in volunteer position with accommodation & meals (or wherewithal to make meals) provided

​

Successful applicant must be prepared to work 6 days per week for at least 8 hours per day

Minimum contract duration: 3 months

Must like birds and dogs

Must be prepared to work in a hot and humid environment

Driver preferred

Tasks include:

  • Routine correspondence

  • Administrate fundraising and membership programmes

  • Maintain diary & calendar for MD

  • Maintain Rehab Database

  • Logistics for avian rescues

  • Administrative tasks relating to Belize Bird Rescue NGO and Rock Farm B&B

  • Marketing for B&B and NGO

  • Social Media Updates

  • PR and Media liaison

  • Website & blog updates & edits

  • Grant and fund seeking

  • Opportunities for education and rescue trips

Must be proficient with Most MS Office programmes, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram

Must be organised, methodical, reliable and patient!
